Galerie de Stijl - Submission Guidelines

NOTE: All fees for the first Abstract Photography Open Show (Deadline: 1 Feb. '08) have been waived. It is free to enter but please consider becoming a member and supporting this new home for contemporary modern art.

ENTRY PREPARATION :

IMAGE SIZE:
Please send only medium resolution files for entries. Winners may be asked to send higher resolution files.
Optimum resolution for each entry is approximately 12 inches at the longest dimension at 72 dpi.
Or approximately 850 pixels at the longest dimension.
Compressed at "High" or "8" in Photoshop this should render a file approximately 1.2 MB or less.

NAMING FILES:
Please name your files to at least include the last name of the artist.
Examples: "smith04.jpg" or "hernandez_masterpiece3.jpg"

ENTRY INFO:
Please list the following information for EACH Entry within the "File Info/Caption" box and/or in the text of each eMail.

(Please be very specific. Is this a "one of a kind" or a "numbered print", List type of paper/canvas/ink/paint etc...)

(Examples: "Photo of 3 red lines on yellow background" or "Digital Rendering of random polka dots in a triangular shape". - This is so we are sure to select and caption the correct image in correspondence)

Galerie de Stijl does not currently accept payment for artwork in its exhibits. The artist's eMail address and/or website will be displayed with the piece and its stated price. Customers must contact the artist directly to purchase artwork.

Galerie de Stijl will regularly purchase artwork and offer it for sale to our patrons in the Gallery Shop. Or, on an individual basis, sell an exclusive edition of prints from a single artist or group of artists. We will also provide Adjunct Artist Pages and Sponsored Artist Pages where members can display artwork for sale with no commission.

Fee Payment will be confirmed before entries are judged.

Entries must be attached individually to an eMail in .JPG format. (1 attachment per eMail)

EMAIL SUBJECT:
In the eMail "Subject" space, please list the artist's last name, Entry number and Title of Show
Example:
(Hernandez - ENTRY 1 of 3 - Modern Painting Open Summer Show)

3D Entries: If you are submitting a three-dimensional entry such as a sculpture or piece of jewelry you may enter TWO images per entry.

FEES:

Fees are currently the only way we have of generating funds to hire jurors, sponsor artists, give awards and pay for server space. We intend to hold at least one fully open show per year with no entry fees. This juried show is our Annual All Media Open Modern Show. (see "Upcoming Exhibits" for schedule.)

All other shows will be either "Open" and incur the regular fees below, or "Invitational" with no fees and by invitation only. Unless otherwise specified.

FEE SCHEDULE:
Entry fees are based on Membership Status. Please see the See the Membership / Sponsorship Page for more details.

Non-Members:
Fee for open exhibit entries is $15.00 for up to 3 entries.
Additional entries optional at $5.00 each.
(Memberships can be purchased at time of entry.)

Student Members / Adult Members
Fee for open exhibit entries is $10.00 for up to 4 entries.
Additional entries optional at $5.00 each.

Adjunct Artists / Sponsored Artists:
Fee for open exhibit entries is $6.00 for up to 3 entries.
Additional entries optional at $5.00 each.

LEGAL MUMBO-JUMBO
By entering any of our exhibits the artist agrees to allow Galerie de Stijl to display the entered artwork on our website without limitation or liability. Galerie de Stijl may use the image of the artwork in part or in full solely for promotion of the artist, an exhibition, or the gallery itself. All rights and copyrights remain with the artist. The nature of the internet dictates that Galerie de Stijl cannot offer any assurance that artwork will not be duplicated by outside entities therefore we only display low resolution images in our gallery.
